Adams Ovation Fairway Woods

Adams Golf, the makers of the original "Tight Lies" family of fairway woods, now has the "Ovation" series of fairway woods.

The Ovation still features the low center of gravity and high moment of inertia that original was known for, with   a newly designed stainless steel head and available Aldila shaft. They are still really easy to hit out of a variety of lies, and are even more forgiving than the original Tight Lies was.

We recently had the opportunity to try out an Ovation 7 wood (metal).  It certainly outperforms the original to some extent, mostly in the distance department. I had the original 7 wood when it first came out and used it for a few years with good results. When I started hitting my long irons better I kind of got away from it and added another wedge to my bag. Based on the results with the new Ovation I may have to reconsider that decision. I can hit it almost 200 yards off the fairway or as little as 180 yards off the tee with just a small adjustment of ball position in my stance. For me, that is just like replacing my 3 and 4 irons and adding yet another wedge. The rest of our group liked the club but are still pretty attached to their 3 irons, for now.
