Celebration Golf Club is located near SR 192 and I-4 just east of Disney in the town of Celebration. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and jr. and opened in 1996. Robert Trent Jones Sr. has designed such classics as The Firestone Country Club in 1960, Hazeltine National in 1962, and the Spyglass Hill course in 1966. Robert Trent Jones jr. designed Poppy Hills at Pebble Beach in 1986 and as well as many US courses and even more courses around the world.

The course plays almost 6800 yards from the back tees and under 5000 yards from the forward tees. We play the Gold tees at 6257 yards and that is perfect for us. There is water on most of the holes but it usually does not come into play. It is amazing how many trees and conservation areas there are on and around the course considering how the course is integrated into the town itself.

My favorite hole is number nine, a 345 yard par 4 from the Gold Tees. While not a very long hole it does feature the classic strategic bunkering that  Robert Trent Jones is famous for. You could pick any number of holes and call them signature holes. That is what makes this course so special.

Celebration Golf Club gets a must play rating from everyone in our group.
